A LATE 19TH CENTURY FRENCH GILT BRONZE AND PORCELAIN MANTEL CLOCK IN THE RENAISSANCE REVIVAL STYLE the arched case surmounted by a urn, the case mounted with top, front and side grisaille painted porcelain panels highlighted in gilt, decorated in the manner of 16th Century Renaissance Limoges enamels, the top panel with a pair of putti linked by an urn bearing forth a floral spray, the front panel bearing the dial above the figures of Adam and Eve linked by a satyr masque, the side panels with the figures of Venus and Cupid standing on urns surrounded by architectural forms, the dial with gilt chapter ring and grisaille Roman numerals, the centre of the dial decorated with a pair of wyverns, the brass twin train movement striking on a bell, stamped 'A.D' in an oval, with pendulum, 42.5cm high overall
